2009-05-11 — Austria's CERN Membership

Dr. Johannes Hahn, Federal Minister for Science and Research, stated in a press release that he wants to end Austria's membership in CERN. The AYPT supports the petition "SOS Teilchen" for the continuation of the Austrian CERN membership. We ask all visitors of our website to sign the petition .

2008-05-25 — Results of the IYPT

Austria misses the Final of the IYPT 2008 by just 0.1 points. (For details refer to the official results .) This is the best result of an Austrian team since the year 1999. Since, however, those days the regulations were quite different from today's and the tournament was also much smaller, this year's result can be seen as the most successful Austrian IYPT participation so far!
The association sincerely congratulates the National Team !

2008-04-13 — Results of AYPT 2008

The results of the AYPT 2008 have been published.

2008-02-19 — Changes in the schedule for the AYPT 2008

Due to a shortage of funds we are unable to extend the AYPT until Sunday as planned. General information , the invitation and the updated preliminary schedule of the 10 ^th Austrian Young Physicists' Tournament 2008 are available.

2007-11-26 — Invitation to General Assembly

The Executive Committee of the association hereby announces that the yearly General Assembly will be held on Saturday, December 15 ^th 2007 at the "Schulversuchspraktikum", University of Vienna, Strudlhofgasse 4, 1 ^st floor, starting at 04:00pm.

All members of the Association as well as those who wish to become members are hereby cordially invited .

2007-05-05 — Results of AYPT 2007

The results of the AYPT 2007 have been published.

2007-04-14 — Travel Information and Info Booklet

Informationen about different travel possibilites to the AYPT is available now.
Furthermore the official AYPT 2007 Info Booklet can be downloaded now. This booklet sums up all the important information concerning the AYPT 2007 (time table, problems, regulations, city map, etc.). All participants will be given a printed copy upon arrival.

2007-03-08 — AYPT Discussion Board

An official AYPT Discussion Board has been set up. More information about the board ca be cound here: Information about the board .

2007-01-28 — Informationen regarding the National Team

Important information regarding the National Team , especially concerning the requirements for taking part in the National Team, dates of preparatory seminars, travel details, etc. has been published.
All Austrian Teamleaders are asked to read through that information and discuss it with their students. This shall make sure that the information about who fulfills the prerequisites for taking part in the National Team is available already at the beginning of the AYPT.

2006-12-22 — AYPT 2007 rescheduled

ATTENTION: Unfortunately it was necessary to reschedule the AYPT 2007 again, since it was not possible to book enough hotel rooms for the desired date. The new date is May 3 ^rd to May 5 ^th 2007 . An updated version of the invitation as well as the schedule is available now.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

2006-12-02 — Changes of the AYPT Regulations

The Regulations of the AYPT have been updated. The newest version is available for download now.

Details on the changes are summarized in the section on tournament regulations .

2006-11-27 — Invitation to General Assembly

2006-11-06 — AYPT 2007 rescheduled

ATTENTION: Due to organizational concerns the AYPT 2007 has been rescheduled. The new date is April 26 ^th to April 28 ^th 2007 . An updated version of the invitation as well as the schedule is available now.

The website has been ported to a new server. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the short downtime. 2006-05-20 — Pictures added

Pictures of the teams at the closing ceremony have been added to the result pages of the 8 ^th AYPT .

2006-04-30 — Results available

The results of the 8 ^th AYPT are online now. The Organizing Committee and the Executive Committee congratulate all participants on their success.

2006-04-12 — List of participants

A preliminary list of participants for the 8 ^th AYPT is now online. All participants, especially teamleaders are asked to check the data (especially the spelling of the names) for accuracy. If you find any errors please report them via email to Georg Hofferek (hofferek@aypt.at) .
