The 29th Austrian Young Physicists’ Tournament will take place from Friday, April 2, to Sunday, April 4, 2027. It is organized by the association AYPT – Österreichische Physikmeisterschaft together with Montanuniversität Leoben and Europagymnasium Leoben.
The tournament will take place at Montanuniversität Leoben, in Franz Josef Straße 18, 8700 Leoben, Austria. Austrian and international teams can register by e-mail to info@aypt.at; the registration deadline will be announced. International teams are asked to also consider the Policy regarding the participation of international Teams before registering. Teams consist of three high school students and one team leader.
The registration fee covers accommodation, food, and tournament participation for the team members and one team leader for two nights (Friday to Sunday). The amount will be announced. Unfortunately, we cannot refund registration fees for teams that have to cancel their participation. For more information, please also contact info@aypt.at.
Spectators, in particular the parents of the participants, are welcome at the AYPT as well.

Every participant prepares one of the problems and brings a report that can be presented — a complete solution is not expected. The official wording of the 17 problems for 2027, which are set every year by the International Young Physicists’ Tournament, is authoritative.
The tournament is conducted in English. The five best students form the national team and represent Austria at the International Young Physicists’ Tournament 2027 in Auckland (New Zealand).
